About the Artist

 Original Oils & Watercolors
Background

A Colorado native, Dottie was interested in art from a very young age and followed that interest to gain a degree in art from Colorado State University.  Her passion for art led her to a career as a professional art educator, teaching students from elementary ages through high school as well as training art majors to teach art.

She travels both nationally and internationally with camera and painting materials at hand.  Capturing images that reflect unique perspectives in landscapes, still lifes, architecture and vintage vehicles are subjects that inspire and challenge.

Her work is in collections in the US and Australia and has found homes in businesses as well as private residences.  In addition to Summerland Garden Gallery and Boulder Street Gallery, she displays work in local venues and juried regional and national shows.

Her mentors include Linda Baker, Pat Wolf, Martha Mans, Ted Nuttal, Tom Owen, Nancy Baldrica and the late Herman Raymond.
